Western Electric 389W
High Power, double button carbon mic

From my collection, this and the Wonderphone mic (below) were acquired  locally  (Portland, OR area) from another radio collector years ago. Although I have no documentation, this one was supposedly used by local radio station "KEX" on their emergency desk. It was used to announce statements like: "please stand by......" when there were power or other technical interruptions of the regular programming.

Wonderphone - Seattle (Rare)
High Power, double  button (or more) carbon microphone

From my collection, this and the Western Electric mic (above) were acquired  locally  (Portland, OR area) from another radio collector years ago. This mic was used at two different early radio stations in the pacific NW. Here is the text from the only documentation I have is the type written tag that was on the mic when the former owner acquired it back in the 50's or 60's. Here is content of the tag's text:
 

The "Wonderphone" built in Seattle. Originally developed for the Dubilier Wireless Telephone, which was a modulated Arc transmitter. Used two or more carbon buttons in parallel.

This particular mic was used by Vincent Kraft with his 7XC in 1921 and KJR in 1922, one of Seattle's pioneer stations.

Western Electric 600A
double button carbon "Ring Mic"

From my collection, An early "ring microphone" with reproduction ring mount & stand. The microphone element itself appeared to be new & unused (as it was wrapped in it's original paper wrapping and was in a small cloth bag with the shipping protector cover on it) when I found it. The ring, flag and stand are reproductions from Ekkehart Willms: http://www.vintagephone.com/

I received this e-mail from Ekkehart Willms (the fellow Whom I  purchased the base,  ring, springs and flag from):

"Hi, I just wanted to let you know that the bottom base is also original (it is a Kellogg manual telephone base ca 1908) - Ekkehart"
